Green Smoothie - Zing

When i got my usual 3 o'clock sweet craving today i instantly reached to turn the kettle on. Then i thought, maybe a smoothie will cure my craving and get me through to afternoon. So i took a look in the fridge and came up with this.

Keeping along the flu fighting line (mainly as it was all i had in the fridge)...

- 1 orange
- 1 green apple
- 1 lemon
- handful green grapes
- handful baby spinach
- mint
- 1/2 cup water

The kids weren't the biggest fans of this one, bit too sour. But it kicked my craving and got me through to dinner.

Green Smoothie - Flu fighter

With Flu season right around the corner i thought we might up our vitamin C to boost our immunity. Nothing like a good does of citrus to kick start the day.

Smoothie recipe;

- 1 orange (mostly peeled)

- 1 lime (mostly peeled)

- 1 lemon (mostly peeled)

- 1 apple (green or red whatever is in the fridge, i used green)

- 1/2 cucumber

- 1 cup watermelon

- mint 

- 1 tsp spirulina

- Linseed meal

Blend till liquified. YUM!

Green Smoothie - Mango, Watermelon & Green Apple

Our kids struggle to eat "enough" vegies and especially anything that is GREEN! So we have been hiding all their goodness in Green Smoothie's, aka Super Smoothies in our house. They go down a treat, never any complaints and are sometimes even requested!

Today's recipe;

- 2 cups baby spinach

- 1 cup diced watermelon

- 1 mango

- 1 green apple

- 1 cup water

- 2 heaped tbsp chia seeds

- 1 heaped tsp Spirulina

The end result...

YUM! YUM! YUM!

Sunday Sands

Cohen in his element...

He loved running up and down the dunes and hiding from me. So much fun trying to keep up with him and watch as he giggled and laughed...the simples pleasures of a toddler!

Our little family

The only one of its kind, a family photo as a foursome (only took a year to get one haha)...a very rare occurrence i feel, as i would much rather be behind the camera than in front!

Cheese

She gets cheekier and cheekier every day...makes me smile at a drop of a hat...Can't get enough!!!

Blowing kisses at bathtime...so much fun! She thinks she's pretty clever these days with all her new tricks.

Learning to play together

As Willa becomes mobile, she wants ever so much to play with her big brother like a big kid. She follows him around and wants to be involved with everything he does. Cohen on the other hand has a love hate relationship with this admiration. On one hand he loves having someone to roll and tumble with, but gets frustrated at her, repeating "no Willa you do it like this!" many times over. 

I love watching them learn and grow together....for the most part its peaceful...for now haha.

Getting steady

Ever so cautiously Willa is being to walk. Taking a few steps at a time, she still prefers to cruise around on the furniture or crawl. We know she can walk...she's shown us she can many times, but she still isn't quite sure of herself. She will take a few steps then slowly lower herself to the ground. A huge contrast to her brother who had many spills before he mastered the art of walking. It makes me think about what her personality is going to be like and how much they will differ....

Maybe its a boy vs girl thing, maybe a first vs second child...or maybe one will go one way the other another and always keep me guessing!

This kid....drives me crazy at times, but i'm crazy about him!

Pool time

Summer always calls for pool time...and my two can't get enough of cooling down and having fun with Dad.

So much fun to watch then laugh and play!

Christmas morning

I have really let the team down when it comes to posting of late. I am only just now getting to edit and post some of our Christmas break photos....better late than never i guess!? Apologies to my family...

5:30am and Cohen was way too excited by his bag of goodies Santa left for him, he struggled to sit still for a photo. He grabbed Willa and yelled, "cheese mum" then quickly pushed her away again so he could continue to play with his new toys.
