Miss Independant

'Baby led weaning', or our variation of has proven to be a real help when introducing foods to Willa. We had a lot of trouble getting Cohen to eat a variety of foods (especially vegies), so we tried a customised version of baby led weaning when Willa began eating foods, and it has proven successful. She loves pretty much anything you put in front of her, and will happily sit and feed herself. Yes its messy, and yes we sometimes mush foods up as she has still only got two teeth, but she never ceases to amaze me as she chews through a strips of meat.

Just two

At 10 1/2 months old, Miss Willa's teeth have been somewhat slow to appear. We still only have 2 bottom teeth, with her 2 top front teeth teasing but not actually cutting through. Maybe i should of sung, "all i want for Christmas is YOUR 2 front teeth"...i am really hoping we don't have an onslaught of shiny whites arriving at once as she has proved not to be the toughest kid on the block.

Dinner Time

The evenings are so lovely during the summer that the kids eat most of their meals out on the back deck. Mostly so we can enjoy the cooled temp from the hot summer day, and also so that the mess is kept outside for ease of cleaning...Things get rather messy!

Water Baby

The fact that our miss came 2 weeks early to arrive just within the Pisces star sign is all too fitting. Her love of the water, especially bath time makes the end of the day so fun (most of the time) as the room is filled with giggles and splashes.

The other night, when it was time to finish up and hop out, Willa shyly turned her head to ignore my request to stand up so i could help her out....

This was then followed up with the cutest, "mum i don't want to hope out look" she has pulled in a while as i continued to coax her to stand. 

My baby girl - those doe eyes only work on your father, i know all your ticks kid!

Guess it was worth a try....hahahahahaha...she is going to most certainly give me a run for my money, "pay back" my own mother would say. Hahahahaha...

Mr. Cool

Getting a 2 1/2 year old to sit still, let alone smile and look at a camera is proving to be quite the challenge these days. Photos of Cohen where he is 1. looking at the camera, and 2. smiling are a rare occurrence of late. This is as close as i got at a recent park trip....hopefully he'll turn on the charm again and out grow is 'too cool' attitude.

Standing Bubba

I just can't get enough of those chubby little thighs. Every time she stands, i just want to rush over and squeeze her - so delicious! I'm sure they will be short lived now she is one the move, but for the time being i will enjoy before she transforms into a toddler.

Afternoon sunshine

Last week i tried the impossible - to take a photo of the kids together!

I decided that we would head down to the park in the warm afternoon sun, to capture just one photo that i could give to the grandparents... 

"Cohen look at the camera and smile?" - FAIL

He much preferred pretending the lens hood was a crown and ran around saying he was the king!

Blurred and out of focus, this is as good as i got!

Tut-tut I should have known better!

After pulling all my tricks out of my sleeve Cohen still wouldn't sit next to his sister, let along keep still or look at the camera and smile. Playing every bit the toddler, i had a roll full of him looking away, running away or blurred snippets of what could of been a great shot. When will i learn!! I guess after having the camera in his face from pretty much birth he is well and truly over it....hopefully this is only a 2 year old ting and we'll have better luck next year! (Ha who am i kidding!?)

A wonderful weekend

A few months ago a good friend of mine had hired an amazing beach house in Byron Bay for her 30th birthday. We all took the kids down and had a relaxing few days filled with winter sunshine and great company.

Early one morning we took a walk down the the beach so the kids could run and explore. Mr. Van found lots of new treasures with his mum. Such a lovely end to a great weekend.

Little D

At just over 2 weeks old Mr Declan was so present and alert. Such a little man already. 

Was a pleasure to capture this new life. Look forward to watching him grow.

Van the Man

This little dude is going to be a heartbreaker when he grows up. So amazing inside and out and he's not even 2!

Oh the adventures these two are going to have. Such delight watching each of them grow, learn and laugh along the way.

S&N get Hitched

One warm spring afternoon two of a good friends were married in a beautiful rustic country themed wedding.

With my trusty wingman (Amy and I), put together all the flowers and bouquets/bridal party flowers. It came together beautifully to make a gorgeous ceremony and fun filled reception.

I wish both Sarah and Nathan all the happiness in the world. Thank you for letting us share in your special day.

Just hanging around

I haven't posted in a while - sorry. Lots happening at the moment but i happened to snap this the other day whist playing with the kids in the back yard. Cohen is a big fan of the swing we have attached under our deck...requests to be pushed higher a frequent occurrence! 

Look at these photos makes me realise just how old he looks now. Almost 2.5 he has such a great character about him. Makes me smile every day.
