Seriously obsessed with TOOOOLS!

We head out to the backyard for an afternoon play most days to burn off the last of the 'toddler energy' before the chaos of dinner, bath, books and bed begins. And without fail Cohen will rummage through the garage to find some toooools to play with. He has been lucky enough to be given an old drill from his Poppy so he doesn't keep "borrowing" daddy's. He know's exactly where its kept, and even tries to plug it into the brick wall when the battery starts to die, mumbling "needs charge" as he walks toward the wall charger in hand.

If he keeps this interest up he'll be building his own house by the time he's in high school.

Summer sunshine comes early

The warmer weather has definitely brightened up the last weeks of winter, and with it we took the opportunity to soak up some vitamin D and headed down to Southport. There is a great park on the water and Cohen just loved running around finding 'jellies' and exploring the dunes.

His stance makes me laugh so much...this can only mean trouble. (He will kill me when he is older)

Looking forward to summer trips down to the coast this year. Really think Cohen will enjoy the beach more he has got over his fear of sand haha.

More man action

Chad came home with a mini tool belt full of tools for Cohen. To say he was excited was an understatement. With the deck pretty much finished they are going to have to find a new project to build....maybe a cubby house!?

Little bit of sunshine

We have been enjoying all this glorious winter sunshine at the moment. Lots of floor time learning to roll and smiling up a storm....Happy days!

Oh hi Mum are you taking more photos...what pose would you like!?

Like her brother his is definitely used to having the camera in her face....no second child syndrome here!

Car cookies

Cohen and I tackled some baking the other day. We decided to make come yummy crispy peanut butter cookies...
Not sure how much cooking Cohen actually did, more 'quality control'!

Ready to roll...

Cutting out the cars

Who doesn't love to lick the spoon!

Now we wait...

Telling me it's HOT and not to touch....hhmmm

First bite!

Morning tea - Milk and Cookies!

"All gone mum! YUM!!!'
Think this will be a recipe we'll recycle...as i'm pretty sure Cohen can't reach the cookie jar, and they "magically" disappeared!? Yeah right Daddy!!

Smiles all round

These days getting the boy dressed is similar to wrestling a baby crocodile. With his twisting torso wriggling in every which way, its a work out all of its own.

There are a few moments where his giggles pause him enough for me to manage to get each piece of clothing on, however this process takes far longer than it should.
Luckily all the delicious smiles and laughs make it worth while!

Lazy Days

Willa and I do love the days Cohen goes to daycare. She gets a peaceful day, with lots of floor time and no noise when she sleeps....

However we do love the chaos and fun Cohen brings when he is at home. Willa has begun to laugh and smile at his silliness. Even when he's cracking a tantrum, she always seams to find him funny and her laughter puts a smile back on his face.

"Mum what is he doing!?"

Willa is still getting used to all the love Cohen is sending her way. He loves to play where ever she is. As soon as i put her down he pounces and yells "want to play with Willa!". Most of the time she is happy to see him, but from time to time i catch her looking at me, pleading "mum get him away from me". Agh the joys of siblings...

Out of the Box with 'AMarr'

Back in June QPAC held a great kids festival called 'Out of the Box'. A week long event filled with fun activities for littlies. Amy and I took Cohen along to check it all out.

There was a maze made out of torn paper, which looked amazing. However Cohen found it all a bit too scary especially when we discovered a man dressed as a bird (all made from newspaper) lurking in he corner. It took me a couple of weeks to convince him that is wasn't real, and that the bird was not coming to our house.

After the festival we headed over to the museum to see the dinosaurs...Cohen was hilarious he couldn't figure out if he loved it or was scared of the size of them. Still he had such a fun hanging out with his fav 'AMarr'.

Things he says...

Our boy's words are slowly but surly started to get strung together to make small sentences and with them comes some very funny statements....

Picking up a piece of ice i had thrown onto the lawn to thaw out... C: "Mum away, hide I want to eat"

Reaching up to the sky...
C:"look moon. want to play with the moon" J: "ok sure, reach up tall"...he reaches with both hands C: "oh mum its a bit high"

Diving head first under the covers while getting dressed in the morning.
J: "Cohen come out and let me dress you" C: "oh mum, brrrrr, its a bit cold"

On turning around to the sound of Willa crying...
J: "Cohen what happened?" C: "Cohen poke Aloe (His name for Willa) eye...Oh no daddy angry...Cohen sit room" (his punishment or 'time out' for doing something wrong is to sit in the middle of his room and not touch anything and come out when he wants to say sorry)...and off he walks to his room.

The joys of having a toddler...

Everything in the mouth

We are reaching the age when everything and anything is going into the mouth and coming out covered in dribble.....

At least she will be building some serious immunity, which with a big brother in daycare, can only be a good thing...

'P' Pups

Our poor pooches have taken a serious back seat since the arrival of bambino's.

Tonka - aka 'T Truck'

Poppy - aka 'Pop Tart'

At least they have each other to chase around and cause chaos in the backyard....they are seriously inseparable!

Man stuff

Chad has been building a deck in our backyard and Cohen has been in tool heaven. He rushes to get his boots on, and stands at the stairs yelling "Help dad build!?"

He usually down more 'getting in the way, than 'helping', but still he has soooo much fun running around pointing out each of the different tools. Mini master building in the making.

Little rolls

I just love the cute little rolls and dimples babies get....

I'm sure as a teenager i'm going to hear all about how she hates the way she looks, so for now i will enjoy my healthy chubba girl.
