Day 65 

Hilarious - I was hanging out the washing on the deck today in fear of more rain, and as i opened the doors to go outside, Cohen rushed over to a pot plant and pulled out his smoothie cup. Yep this is what happens when Daddy looks after him for a few days...mmmmmmm...i do love how he knew just where he left it, and as he swung around with a huge smile on his face and said - More!?

Little bit of sunshine

Day 64 

After a week of rain it was nice to be able to head outside and enjoy the sunshine. And after a week of sick boys it was nice to see some smiles again.

Sneaky puppies trying to get their share of apple...i just love to watch Cohen try and push the dogs around. To him they must look like giants yet he still shows them who's boss.

Such a cry baby

Day 63 

Today i was looking through some old folders on an old computer and i came across a folder titled "wedding". I had a flick through and found a copy of my vows i wrote for our wedding. As i read them i had to stop myself from yet again crying. I am seriously the worst when it comes to 'love' suff. I absolutely embarrassed myself on our wedding day, blubbering and stumbling through my vows stopping at every third word to yell at myself in my head - "are you serious, pull your shit together, you are being such a cry baby and everyone is watching!" OH well guess its ok to cry at weddings even if you are the bride - kind of runs with the 'its my party and i'll cry if i want to!? Haha...we did have the most perfect day and 3 1/2 years later i can finally look back and laugh...lets just hope we never to re-new our vows.

Day 62 

Looking rather regal (in his Hungry Jacks crown) Cohen ate lunch fixated on the TV. I had to laugh as i took this photo i was getting in his line of view and as he dodged and weaved to get around me i got the signature Cohen frown to say "mum, seriously get that thing out of my face"....and don't worry people he was not eating Hungry Jacks..

Day 61 

One full day of study - check...sent the boys on a 'boys day' so i had the house to myself...haven't studied like this for ages...agh the life of a student = no life! Lucky its only part time...bambinos, work and study is proving to be quite the time management challenge.

Day 59 

While unpacking the dishwasher i popped Cohen up onto the bench to keep him from 1. grabbing the clean knifes and 2. stop him climbing into the dishwasher it self. Who new he would have so much fun. His new view on the world brought much joy as he played with all the clean dishes on the bench...come to think of it a grater probably isn't that much safer than a knife! Especially while standing at a raised height...ha, good parenting by me!

Day 58 

Just the way Saturdays should be...kicking back on the couch with Dad napping the afternoon away. Not much of a boy already!

Day 57

Agh fridays have never felt so good. A day for rest and recovery after our colourful couple of days. Still dealing with a bambino thats not a 100% but seams to be coping a lot better with some home time and cuddles. 

He has become quite obsessed with Chads hard hat and head phones. Whenever he find then either he or one of us have to put the on. As he puts the hard hat on he taps it just to make sure its on right and working properly - very cute. Just wants to be like dad already!

Wow what a week...

Day 55 

I only lasted 1 1/2 days at work before i got the call from day care..."Cohen has a temperature of 39.5 can you please come and get him"! He has NEVER had a temperature, even when he is teething, so this was quite alarming news. I was lucky enough to be able to leave straight away and was only 5 mins away from picking up one, pale sad little boy with rosie red cheeks. I put the limp little man into the car and headed straight to the doctors, just to make sure everything was alright - dam day care kids and their virus', this is one thing they should not share! Luckily with some paracetamol, rest and a lot of cuddles the doctor said he should recover without much fuss. However i was preparing myself for a sleepless night just incase.

Day 56 

So after our eventful day yesterday we did manage to get a bit of sleep, only woke up twice, so not much harm done. 

Lets hope with a nice cool bath and lots of stories tonight will be a better one.

First day

 

Day 54

Yes today was my first day back to work. There were definitely mixed emotions. On one hand i was excited to be able to switch my brain from toddler mode into adult communication mode, however my excitement was overcome with nerves as i didn't know how Cohen would deal with a full day of day care, or if i was even able to reboot the part of my brain that used to function as a 9-5 working girl. It was quite weird stepping back into the office, very little had changed. I had a few moments when it felt like i hadn't left at all, and i'd have to remember that it's been here a year and a half and  I now in fact was a mum. In all it was a pretty smooth day, Cohen barely noticed that i wasn't around, and i seam to pick up from where i left off easy enough...lets see how the rest of the week goes.

Day 53 

Well today is the last day at home before i head to work tomorrow...so we spent the day in our PJ's, yep i had a shower and got dressed at 3pm today, and that's only because i have to go to lectures tonight. Agh the life of the 'stay at home mum' hahaha...

Ooops - missed a day...

Day 49 

Ooops well i guess i was bound to miss a day uploading at some point...luckily i have still remembered to take pics each day, so this will be a double dose! 

On Thursday we went down and visited some friends on the Gold Coast. As per usual Cohen turned their house upside down checking out all the nooks and cranny's. In true form to his addiction to books he hit their book shelf to find some new reads. It seams that he has become bored of kids books and has upgraded to a more intellectual read...'Partial Differential Equations"...if he keeps this up he's going to be a genius by the age of 3!

Day 50 

We headed back down the coast today as we needed to spend an hour or so getting used to our new child care, yes thats right i am heading back to work! Well just temporarily and only for a couple of days a week. So Cohen went to meet his teachers and new friends...and put my mind at ease that come Tuesday when i drop him off both of us aren't going to be a teary mess...still no guarantee of that though. He seamed to really enjoy himself and was happy playing with the other kids, so hopefully he wont notice I'm not there and be fine...ha in a perfect world! Oh well its not forever....


Sooooo i fear that my daily blogging might miss a few beats. I will try my very best to keep things up to date and at very least still take a picture a day, but who knows what will happen, we are entering new territory here...the world of a 'working mum'!

Day 46 

New Farm park is one of the best parks i have ever been to. Every time we go Cohen loves it there with so much for him to explore, it's a sure fire way to wear him out ready for a long afternoon nap. Today his buddy Beau and sister Sienna came up for the day, so Cohen got to show them around town.

Mmmmm Dirt!

Day 45 

Dirt was on the menu for breakfast this morning...lovely crunchy nutritious dirt. When asked if he had been eating dirt, i got a shy sideways glance and he tilted his head upward to show me his newly spouted moustache. I later found a big hole in a pot plant which  - busted!
